what do you mean by only have met her once? you mean in person or talked on myspace?
but the answer to your question is that you don't. Your have to have discussions with her first and get to know her online. THEN you can ask for her number after a couple of weeks. It kind of freaks us out when a guys we haven't even really talked to asks us for our number because we don't even know him.
so get to know her first.
